Here’s my community guide to the Linkhorn neighborhoods of Virginia Beach. There is a constellation of waterfront communities along the shores of Linkhorn Bay in Virginia Beach. This Bay is in the northern half of the city and separates the Great Neck area from Birdneck Point. The “Linkhorn” name refers to the neighborhoods of Linkhorn Bay, Linkhorn Point, Linkhorn Estates, Linkhorn Oaks, Linkhorn Cove, and Linkhorn Shores.
Most Linkhorn homes for sale were built after 1975. The lots are large and pleasantly wooded. The homes are gracious, spacious, and majestic. Many of them are waterfront or have water access nearby. This part of the city is dotted with parks, boat docks, and fishing poles.
Linkhorn homes for sale offer fast access to several beaches, the Virginia Beach Oceanfront resort, bike paths, summer concerts, the hiking trails at First Landing State Park, and Shore Drive entertainments. There are several small neighborhood parks nearby for walking trails or playgrounds. Great Neck Recreation Center is closeby. There are lots of boat launches and marinas available throughout Great Neck.
It is a quick drive to I-264, and an easy commute to Fort Story, Dam Neck Annex, NAS Oceana, and Little Creek Amphibious Base.
There are several country clubs within a fifteen minute drive, including the Cavalier Yacht and Country Club, Broad Bay Country Cloub, & the Princess Anne Country Club.
Linkhorn is convenient to several local installations. NAS Oceana, Fort Story, Dam Neck Annex, and Camp Pendleton are all within a fifteen minute drive; Little Creek is about 20 minutes away and Norfolk NOB is about 30-40 minutes away.
