Location

Quail Point is a waterfront neighborhood in Virginia Beach.  It sits on the shores of Linkhorn Bay in the northern half of the city.  Linkhorn Bay separates the Great Neck area from Birdneck Point.

Community

All of the homes in Quail Point were built after 1975.  The lots are large and pleasantly wooded.  The homes are gracious, spacious, and majestic.  Many of them are waterfront or have water access nearby.  This part of the city is dotted with parks, boat docks, and fishing poles.

Convenience

This neighborhood offers fast access to several beaches, the Virginia Beach Oceanfront resort, bike paths, summer concerts, the hiking trails at First Landing State Park, and Shore Drive entertainments.  It is a quick drive to I-264, and an easy commute to Fort Story, Dam Neck Annex, NAS Oceana, and Little Creek Amphibious Base.

 

There are several small neighborhood parks nearby for walking trails or playgrounds.  Great Neck Recreation Center is closeby.  There are lots of boat launches and marinas available throughout Great Neck.

 

There are several country clubs within a fifteen minute drive, including the Cavalier Yacht and Country Club, Broad Bay Country Cloub, & the Princess Anne Country Club.

Shopping

Virginia Beach resort shopping,  Shore Drive amusements, Hilltop boutiques, Lynnhaven or Pembroke malls are all closeby.  I-264 is close enough for fast access to shopping at MacArthur Mall in Norfolk or Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake.

Military

Quail Point is convenient to several local installations.  NAS Oceana, Fort Story, Dam Neck Annex, and Camp Pendleton are all within a fifteen minute drive; Little Creek is about 20 minutes away and Norfolk NOB is about 30-40 minutes away.

Schools

The area is served by First Colonial High School and Cox High School; middle schools include Virginia Beach and Lynnhaven; elementary schools are Alanton and Linkhorn Park.  Local private schools like Cape Henry Collegiate, Norfolk Academy, or Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School are also options.

Waterfront

There are lots of waterfront properties available, and many of these offer deep water access to the Chesapeake Bay and Broad Bay.  It’s not uncommon for locals to travel by boat from their homes to local restaurants like Bubba’s, Dockside, or Chick’s Oyster Bar.
